The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized an online scientific lecture as part of the summer training courses on Biopesticides

The lecture given by the teacher, Shaima Saeed Rahim, Department of Ecology, included the definition of Biopesticides and the importance of using them as alternatives to manufactured chemical pesticides because they are safe and environmentally friendly materials.

The lecture touched on the types of microbial, microbial, fungal and biopesticides of plant origin used to combat many pests.

The lecture showed some examples of biocides, their method of action, and their efficiency in eliminating the target pest.
