The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (An overview on Molds and Mycotoxicosis  ) by the graduate student Wasan Fouad Fadhel , The study aim  to  the investigate, food safety is increasingly becoming a serious public health challenge, as foodborne diseases present a widespread and growing human health concern in both developed and developing countries  . The study included the role of seedborne fungi in grain spoilage process , Ecophysiology of grain molds and competitive succession of species , mycotoxins ,classification of Aflatoxins,  health consequences of Aflatoxins  such as Liver disease (liver cancer and cirrhosis ), Immune suppression , nutrition- related problems in children such as stunted growth , mutagenesis , teratogenesis , Association of Aflatoxins with Cancer .
