A master’s thesis was discussed at the College of Science, University of Basrah, entitled "Assessment of Some Heavy Elements in Blood of Children with Anemia in Basrah Province," submitted by Maram Alaa Hanoon. The study investigated the association between selected trace/heavy elements and iron deficiency anemia among children in Basrah Province. The findings highlighted a strong relationship between environmental pollution, nutritional imbalance, and increased exposure to lead and cadmium, particularly among newborns. The study recommended expanding future research, periodic blood monitoring, improving nutritional awareness, and reducing environmental exposure to heavy metals.
