Master's discussion at the University of Basrah on the formation of the dove in the halafaya oil field

The Department of geoscience at the college of Science discussed a master's thesis entitled (studying the petrophysical properties of the formation of the dove in the halafaya oil field in southern Iraq)

The study included characterizing the lithological, stratigraphic and petrophysical characteristics of the pigeon formation in the halafaya field through the interpretation of well probes and drilling crumbs, dividing the formation into reservoir units, evaluating reservoir properties such as porosity, permeability, saturation, and log size, in addition to classifying runoff units. The study also included Petrographic and mineralogical analyses using thin-film and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), clay minerals analysis with Kama-ray spectral (SGR) data, and the construction of a three-dimensional petrophysical model).
The results were obtained (the results showed a high reservoir variability resulting from magmatic changes and metamorphic processes, reflected on the distribution of reservoir properties between units).
