The Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a seminar entitled "Using the SPSS Statistical Software in Data Analysis and Obtaining Reliable Results."

The seminar aimed to introduce attendees, particularly postgraduate students and researchers, to the importance of statistical analysis software in data analysis, data entry methods, and data processing techniques, emphasizing the selection of analyses appropriate to the data type, distribution, and homogeneity.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Makia Mahlal Khalaf, a faculty member in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, highlighted the importance of statistical analysis in scientific research and studies, and how to enter data in a way that ensures reliable results.

The seminar recommended that the statistical design and type of analysis for experiments and academic research be included in the research proposal before commencing fieldwork or laboratory work.
