Dr. Mohammed Salem Muwail, a faculty member in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, participated in a meeting of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Council. The meeting was held at the local government building in Basra and was attended by the Governor of Basra, Mr. Asaad Al-Eidani.

The participation included a presentation and discussion of the most prominent environmental challenges facing Basra Governorate, particularly those related to water resources, waste management, pollution control, and improving public services.

The attendees emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts and coordinating work among relevant departments, stressing the need to adhere to approved environmental standards and implement the prepared programs within the specified timeframes.
