
The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop titled "For a Quiet Classroom: The Role of the Teacher in Reducing Noise Pollution."
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the problem of noise pollution in the school environment and its negative effects on students and teachers. It also highlighted the role of teachers in creating a quiet classroom environment that enhances students' ability to concentrate and achieve academic achievement.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Nayef Mohsen Aziz, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology, and attended by employees of the Basra Governorate Education Directorate, included a discussion of educational and administrative methods for reducing noise in classrooms and the importance of promoting a culture of calm and mutual respect among students.
The workshop recommended the activation of environmental awareness programs in schools and encouraging teaching staff to adopt practices that reduce noise sources, thus contributing to a healthy and appropriate learning environment.
