The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on assessing the quality of polluted river water using pollution indicators.
The session, which was lectured by master's student Zahraa Jassim Muhammad, aimed to review the environmental evidence for assessing polluted river water and how to apply it and the measurements that must be made to extract and interpret the results.
The session touched on the most important pollution indicators used in this field with a review of local studies in this regard, especially the studies conducted on the Shatt al-Basra Canal and the most important results obtained as a polluted canal after it became a canal for draining sewage water for the center of Basra Governorate
