The Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basrah, organized a workshop titled "Advanced Batteries and Their Environmental Prospects."

The workshop, presented by Dr. Firas Mustafa Al-Khatib—a faculty member in the Department of Ecology —aimed to introduce various types of advanced batteries and their role in the transition toward clean energy.

The session covered the future of energy storage, as well as modern battery generations, including Qilin batteries, solid-state batteries, and others.

The workshop also provided recommendations regarding cutting-edge battery manufacturing technologies, future alternatives, and recycling processes.
