College of Science organizes a seminar on the role of mothers in environmental education

The Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit and the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science at the University of Basra, organized a seminar on the role of mothers in environmental education.

The workshop aimed to explain the role of mothers in environmental education and increase the awareness of their children.

The workshop, which was lectured by lecturer Moataz Hekmat Othman from the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, included defining environmental education and the role of mothers in environmental education, including environmental awareness, solving the problem of population explosion, preserving biodiversity, teaching children environmental cleanliness and maintaining health, guiding them to recycle household waste, and the impact of mothers' educational level on children's awareness.

The workshop recommended strengthening the role of women through the necessity of providing material and moral incentives to achieve women's empowerment and planning to involve women in development in the short and long term and paying attention to the legislative system that actually achieves women's empowerment.
