An article entitled "High Temperatures and Their Psychological Effects Ring the Alarm Bell in Basra" was published by a lecturer in the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hekmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology.

The article, which included a detailed explanation of the extreme heat and the reason for its rise and the change in climatic conditions due to the increase in gaseous emissions and environmental changes, including the lack of vegetation cover, which affects mental health and behavior, especially for those who have serious health risks, including violence, mood swings, insomnia, and lack of knowledge.

The article was published in the Iraqi news agency "Sky", which summarized advice, including avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, drinking plenty of fluids, and increasing environmental awareness through the media and relevant authorities.
