A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology, published an article entitled Visual Pollution and the Urban Challenge.

The article included a detailed explanation of how visual pollution occurs and the reasons for its spread, including its types: point pollution, line pollution, level pollution, mass pollution, and the environmental effects of this type of pollution, which leads to psychological diseases and health effects.

The article was published in the Iraqi “sky” news agency, which outlined how to address this pollution, including urban planning, choosing suitable sites for dumping waste, increasing green spaces, and cooperating with the media and decision makers to find effective solutions.
