The College of Science organizes a seminar on bacteria and wastewater treatment

The Department of Science at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the isolation of bacteria that produce flocculants and their use in wastewater treatment.

The seminar, which was lectured by graduate student Asala Muhammad Kulaib, aims to isolate and diagnose bacteria that produce bioflocculation compounds from different sites and evaluate their efficiency in treating polluted water.

The episode discussed the necessity of using bioremediation using bioflocculation compounds produced from bacteria under optimal conditions, which represent environmentally friendly and effective materials.

The workshop recommended the possibility of applying bioflocculation compounds to remove a group of pollutants from wastewater and eliminate pollutants.
