The Department of geoscience at the Faculty of science at the University of Basrah organized a field work trip to the area of the teddy bear quarries for the students of the field course under the supervision of Dr. Basim Hamid Sultan and Dr. Fahd Mansour Saqr.the field work coincided with the International Day of geological diversity, which falls on October 6, 2023 and was registered by Dr. Basim Hamid Sultan among the international events on this day and this event was considered the only one at the level of Iraq and placed on the global map at the UNESCO website.
