A lecturer participates in discussing a doctoral thesis in the College of Agriculture

The lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, Dr. Makiya Muhalhal Khalaf, participated in the discussion of the doctoral thesis of the student Iktifa Naeem Jassim, entitled (Qualitative assessment and determination of the extent of pollution of the Shatt al-Arab and its suitability for irrigation using the water quality guide “Canadian model”), which was organized by the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra.

The study dealt with determining water quality in sixteen stations distributed along the Shatt al-Arab.

The study concluded that the water of the Shatt al-Arab is not suitable for irrigation in most of the study stations as a result of high salinity, especially in the stations downstream.
