A research team at the University of Basra (preparation of a composite material based on a polymeric anti-flame wobbler in the form of the ability to attenuate electromagnetic radiation as well as calm down fast neutrons).

A research team at the College of Science at the University of Basra, composed of:

1- Prof. Widad Saleh Hantoush

2- L.M. Abeer Salman Abboud

3- M.D. Maitham Abdullah Ali

4- M.D. Riyad Munadi Ramadan

From obtaining a patent to enable him to (prepare a flame retardant polymer-based composite material from the residues of the Sidr plant and its applications to attenuate electromagnetic radiation (such as X-rays and gamma rays) and as a moderator of fast neutrons).

The patent included the manufacture of a composite material with a polymer base that is anti-flame and resistant to fires, as well as has the ability to attenuate electromagnetic radiation (such as X-rays and gamma rays), as well as a moderator of fast neutrons and making them slow neutrons, as well as thermal, to enable researchers to use these calming neutrons in medical, industrial and environmental research and studies. The material is mainly prepared from the residues of the Sidr plant
