“Isolation, identification and investigation of the antibacterial activities of alkaloids compound from Cappris spinose in Misan/Iraq” by Master student Hawraa Salah Mahdi

  The viva session was held at the College of Science/ Biology dept./Misan. Al-laaeiby explained that the dissertation included different aspects which deal with the developing novel alternative antibacterial medications. Isolation, identification and characterisation of alkaloid compound from Cappris spinose as well as investigating the antibacterial activity of the extract against gram-positive and negative bacteria. Moreover, the cytotoxicity of the compounds was investigated.
This study regards as a promising study to tackle the resistance to antibacterial drug problems and reduce the side effects of commercial chemical drugs.
