The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Vulnerability of viral infections in end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients)

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Vulnerability of viral infections in end stage renal disease (ESRD)  patients  ) by the graduate student Noor Jabbar Mohammed The study aims  to detect  important viruses BK Virus , Human Cytomegalovirus  and Epestein Barr virus. also Evaluating the effectiveness of treatments provided to End stage renal diseases and Kidney Transplant patients to avoid HCMV infections. Assessment of antibody titers to determine the immune status and the extent to which patients are at risk of infection,  this study measure  antibody avidity to HCMV and its comparison with molecular diagnosis and  Immunophenotyping study by calculation of lymphocyte subsets using flow cytometry.
and included 367 sample from Haemodialysis patients, Kidney transplantation (From basrah Centre for Kidney diseases and Transplantation), Onco. patients( From  oncology and hematology center )and control ,all of the were screened for the viruses above using PCR.
Using Electrochemiluminscience assay , anti HCMV –IgG ,IgM and IgG Avidity done for the studied groups. Immune status evaluation using Nephlometry assay to detect  total serum IgG and IgM
In this study, by using immunophenotyping for T,B, NK cells , Thelper cells , IL-4 and INF gamma by Flow Cytometry.
and the study was recommended more specialized  immunological studies on Kidney transplant patients include more patients.
