A faculty member of the Department of Chemisrty, College of Scienc (Dr. Layla Al-Omran)  published a research article enitiled; Organophosphate esters in indoor and outdoor dust from Iraq: Implications for human exposure. This research is a collaborative work between the University of Basrah, and University of Birmingham, and represents the first reported data about the human exposure of organophosphate in Iraq. 

The article was published at the Golden open acess Emerging Contaminants journal, which has a Citscore of 9.7.
