A research team at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muslim Abdul Rahman Al-Tamah, Prof. Dr. Adnan Issa Al-Badran, and PhD student Suad Aqrab Maaleh Al-Aboudi teaching at the University of Dhi Qar, were able to diagnose, isolate and record a ciliary parasite for the first time globally from CSF from meningitis patients in the province. Dhi Qar, where it was registered in the global gene bank and published as part of a scientific research in Al-Safir magazine within Scopus containers.
