A lecturer from the University of Basrah published a paper indexed at ScopusQ3 database.

Adhil F. Abbas published a paper entitled Re-sighting Egyptian Vulture with raptors survey at East Al-Hammar marshes and Abo Al-Khaseeb, south of Iraq in the Iranian  Journal of  Ichthyology,

which is indexed in Scopus Q3 database.

The results showed the presence of 13 species of raptors.

Five out 13 species were classified by International Union for Conservation Nature (IUCN) under different threatened categories
