PhD thesis at Basraha University to be discussed Morphological and Molecular characterization of Fusarium oxysporum causing fusarium wilt on tomato

.
Ph. D thesis at the faculty of Biology- at the University of Basraha (Morphological and Molecular characterization of Fusarium oxysporum causing fusarium wilt on tomato plant and possibility to control its by Integrated control.
), and showed the researcher's thesis (Anna Dawood K. AL-karkhi). Thesis aims to Fusarium, molecular diagnosis and the possibility of controlling them in tomato fields in Basra. and concluded The presence of Fusarium of different types and strains in all the sites from which samples were taken and all parts of the affected plants, as well as the possibility of other types of mushrooms causing wilt disease, and it was recorded for the first time in Iraq and the world, namely, F. brachygibbosum and F. acutatum isolates were recorded in the gene bank. The isolates varied in their ability to cause disease. The plant extracts of Moringa oleifera leaves, neem Azadirachta indica and lemongrass Cymbopogon citratus contained active substances with different concentrations that appeared through their diagnosis by GC-MS device and had a role in controlling the growth of The studied isolates of the pathogenic fungus Trichoderma longibrachiatum also showed a high antagonistic efficiency against the pathogenic isolates.
..... recommended conducting more studies to identify the genes responsible for causing the disease and work to purify the active substances of the studied plant extracts and test their effectiveness against plant pathogenic fungi, including Fusarium oxysporum, and search for biological factors from the local environment and work to employ them as vital factors to combat plant pathogenic fungi .
