Professor Dr. Alaa Mohsen Attiyah, a lecturer at the Department of Geoscience, Faculty of Science, University of Basra, has been selected among the top 2% of research scientists in the world for 2025, for the fifth year in a row, according to the rating issued by Stanford University, which was published by the International Publishing House Elsevier.

This prestigious international classification is based on rigorous scientific criteria that include 22 main fields and 176 subfields, where the percentage of excellence is calculated according to the number of published research and its sobriety, the strength of the impact factor of scientific journals, as well as the number of citations and the h-index.

The inclusion of Dr. Alaa Mohsen Attia in this list reflects his status as one of the most influential scientists in his field of research globally.
