The University of Basrah organizes a seminar on (Genetic diagnosis and biological resistance of Fusarium oxysporum)

The College of Science at the University of Basra joined a seminar on (Genetic diagnosis and biological resistance to Fusarium oxysporum that causes Fusarium wilt disease in Basra Governorate)from PHD student Anna D.Khamas
The study aims to isolate and diagnose Fusarium oxysporum phenotypically and genetically from tomato plants infected with wilt and from multiple sites in Basra Governorate including Zubair and Bargisia farms and sites in the Garmat Ali region and the use of effective secondary compounds of Moringa olivera Azadirachta indica and Cymbopogne citratus as alternatives to chemical pesticidesTesting the pathogenicity of isolated fungi, and conducting antibody tests for pathogenic isolates with Trichoderma longibrachiatum, the biocide Raccada and the pesticide. Trimax60 and the use of plant extracts in different concentrations against pathogenic isolates .. The study recommended (conducting more genetic studies to determine the types of fusarium causing wilt disease on tomato and the possibility of using the plant extracts of the mentioned plants as pollinating materials for seeds and for treating seedlings and studying environmental factors to link them to disease and pathogen development and the possibility of investigating safe and effective compounds. In other medicinal plants for use in biological resistance programs.
