The University of Basrah organizes a seminar on viral cancer treatment

The College of Science joined a seminar entitled Viral treatment with Newcastle disease viruses against cancer cell lines for graduate student / master's Sanaa Abdel Hamid Ghali. The study aims to measure the cellular toxicity of NDV viruses on breast cancer cells type Amj13 and the natural line of breast cancer HBL_100 and measure the cellular toxicity of natural camphor oil on the same cancer lines  And measure the synergistic effect of camphor oil and the virus on the Amj13 cancer line, and then perform tests to detect programmed cell death using the AO / EB stains and estimation.
Quantification of apoptotic cell death proteins Caspies 3, 8 and 9, the study demonstrated the inhibitory effect of breast cancer cell proliferation of Newcastle virus and camphor oil when used alone or when used together on the same cancer lines, and also worked on inducing cellular necrosis and programmed death in breast cancer cells with non-pathways.  Based on the activation of caspase proteins, the study also recommended experimenting with using a mixture of camphor oil and Newcastle virus on laboratory animals, studying the inhibitory effect of them on other types of human cancers and studying other pathways responsible for causing programmed cell death in cancer cells.
