The Department of pathological analyzes at the Faculty of science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on gallstones and their types, the mechanism of their formation, and their effect on the body - with a focus on bilirubin metabolism

The lecture aimed at studying the factors that lead to the formation of gallstones, their different types, and their impact on the functions of various organs in the body, focusing on the role of bilirubin metabolism in this process.

 
The lecture in which the lecturer Zainab Ali Abdullah from the Department of Pathological Analyses attended included the function of the gallbladder in storing and concentrating bile and interpreting the formation of gallstones due to an imbalance of bile components, focusing on the types of stones. It also showed the effect of stones on the body, such as the pathogenesis of cholecystitis, cholangitis, pancreatitis, and gallbladder cancer.
