The college of science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on the principles of using and managing international rivers   

The seminar aimed to introduce the rights to use water and the rules of utilization of transboundary river basins.       

 The seminar, which was attended by the lecturer Dr. Mazen Abdul-Azim, included a presentation on transboundary natural resources, with a focus on the Tigris and Euphrates and the water crisis in Iraq. It discusses the causes of scarcity, the economic value of water, human rights, principles of joint use and management, international agreements and experiences, the importance of monitoring and data exchange to support decision.
