
The Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Student Activities Unit, organized a symposium entitled "The Phenomenon of Divorce and Domestic Violence, Its Effects, and Proposed Solutions."
The symposium aimed to highlight the importance of family counseling and the law as two fundamental pillars in achieving family stability and reducing conflicts that could lead to family disintegration.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Hana Abdulnabi Al-Abbadi, a lecturer at the College of Education for Women and a member of the Psychological Counseling Unit, and Dr. Abdul-Ali Hamid Al-Tamimi, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at Al-Kunooz Private University for the College of Administration and Economics, explained family counseling and the provision of psychological and social support to spouses and individuals by raising awareness of effective communication methods and peaceful problem-solving, which reduces the incidence of violence and divorce. It also emphasized the regulatory and decisive role of law through the enactment of legislation that protects everyone's rights and establishes mechanisms for reconciliation and settlement.
The symposium recommended strengthening the role of family counseling and developing laws to ensure family stability and protect it from disintegration.
