A master's thesis at the Faculty of science at the University of Basra examined the epidemiological, biochemical and genetic assessment of Type II diabetes and its relationship to genetic polymorphism (rs7903146) in the TCF7L2 gene in Basra governorate. 

The thesis presented by the student Manar Qasim Mohammed aims to shed light on the role of genetic, biochemical, and epidemiological factors in the development of type II diabetes, with the statement of the importance of genetic polymorphism (rs7903146) in the TCF7L2 gene and its possible impact on the regulation of insulin secretion and some hormones associated with glucose metabolism.
