The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled Optical Encryption and Information Processing in Biometric Images, presented by postgraduate student Hawraa Abdulredha Khalaf. This study aims to explore and develop classical optical interference methods while identifying their weaknesses. It includes introducing a novel optical encryption system based on a dual-image approach, utilizing the principles of interference and spatial encoding. It also provides for the integration of spatial encoding and encryption to enhance the system’s ability to address the silhouette problem. Additionally, the study includes facilitating authorization verification for two biometric users while examining cryptographic methods and evaluating the system’s resistance to various attacks.
