The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitle (the use of nanoparticles prepared from secondary metabolites for biomedical applications.) by the graduate student Zainab Abdul Amir Najm. The study aims to synthesize Zinc Oxide nanoparticles using plant extracts, and to synthesize a hybrid antagonist ZnO+Carbomer940 as an accelerator of wound healing in BALB/c mice. The study included the identification of active compounds using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MAS) technique, and the characterization of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles synthesized by green methods. The study recommended the combination of zinc oxide with other active compounds to study the synergistic effect between them in accelerating wound healing and the inclusion of zinc oxide in the inclusion of cancerous tumors, fungi and parasites.
