Basrah University organizes a seminar on the sedimentary study of alluvial fans in the al-Tayeb region of south-eastern Iraq in Maysan governorate

The college of science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar entitled" studying the sedimentary properties of the Tayeb fan", which included discussing the origin and development of sedimentary fans in the Tayeb area located in southern Iraq east of Maysan governorate. The seminar, in which the master's student (Mustafa Mohammed Jabbar) lectured, included highlighting the various sedimentary processes that contributed to the formation of the fan, including granular gradient, transport and sedimentation, in order to understand the environmental sequence that formed the fan. The seminar also dealt with the influence of tectonic and climatic factors on the formation of the fan. Sedimentary samples were collected from several depths and analyzed using various scientific techniques.
