The Department of ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra participated in the afforestation campaign of the college's gardens as part of the campaign to afforestation Basra Governorate.

The afforestation process was carried out under the supervision and attendance of Dr. Ali Abdul Imam Abdul Zahra, Dean of the College, Dr. Tahseen Ali Saki, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Abdul Wahab Najm, Head of the Department of Environmental Science, and the department's faculty and students, with the contribution of the college's gardeners.
