
The college of science at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion on the Systematics of Recent Benthic Foraminifera and Ostracoda as indicators of environmental change: Marine shelf and upper-slope environments, south of Iraq . The aim of the study was to study the microfossils in the eastern breakwater, the Western breakwater and the inner Basin of the port of Al-Faw . The seminar, which was attended by graduate student Badriya Ali Hussein, included the study of fossils in different areas of the western and eastern breakwaters, in addition to the internal Basin in the Al-Faw district (Al-Faw coast) and included a taxonomic study as well as a sedimentary study and the identification of marine changes during the modern era for the purpose of determining fine grains, determining the geological age and determining the decoration because of its taxonomic and environmental importance
