The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the use of fibrous cellulose extracted from paper waste and silver nanoparticles to absorb dyes in aqueous solutions
The seminar, in which master's student Hawra Kazim Abdul Hussein lectured, aims to use cellulosic materials extracted from paper waste as good adsorbents to get rid of water pollution with dyes.
The seminar discussed the use of more than one type of cellulose supported by bio-prepared silver nanoparticles capable of adsorbing pollutants in tertiary treatment.
The study recommends the use of environmentally friendly methods by preparing natural materials that are biodegradable. This study is considered part of environmental sustainability research by disposing of paper waste and using it in environmental treatments within the field of environmental pollution.
