
The Faculty of science at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion that included a sedimentary and mineralogical study of the Omar River formation in the ratawi field in southern Iraq . The seminar, delivered by graduate student Nahla Hamza Abbas, aimed to determine the sedimentary environment and the prevailing sediments of the Omar River formation, the impact of metamorphic processes on Reservoir specifications, and the study of mineral and geochemical properties. The seminar delivered by the researcher Nahla Hamza Abbas included the description of the pulp rocks available for the formation of the Omar river for selected wells from the field, in addition to the petrographic examination of rock slides for the purpose of determining the abrasions and the depositional environment, knowledge of the metamorphic processes prevailing in the formation rocks and conducting laboratory analyzes and tests with modern devices to study the mineral and geochemical properties.
