Dr. Afaq Mahdi Jaber participated in a workshop at the College of Science, University of Basra, regarding pollution, cleanliness, and food preservation in the university cafeterias and restaurants. The event, held in the conference hall of the University of Basra, was supervised by the Health Monitoring and Cafeteria Unit in the Scientific Affairs Department. Attendees included the Head of the Scientific Affairs Department at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Hamid Aboud, the unit's supervisor, Assistant Professor Dr. Youssef Jabar Lutfah, and several cafeteria and club owners.
Dr. Afaq Mahdi Jaber's participation aimed to raise awareness among the owners of university cafeterias and clubs regarding the importance of cleanliness and the basic rules that must be followed and adhered to by cafeteria workers. The lecture covered the causes of pollution, types of food contamination, how to preserve food, and how to prevent its spoilage and contamination. Additionally, it addressed the sources of pollution that can occur in cafeterias and clubs, with the goal of ensuring the health and safety of university students and preventing foodborne illnesses that could result from consuming contaminated meals.
