An article entitled The Reality of the Impact of Climate Change on Gender was published by a lecturer in the College of Sciences at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hekmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology.

The article, which included a detailed explanation of climate change and its impact on social groups and the increased risk against women and children, including the risk of domestic violence, the risk of child marriage, and the risk of bartering for sex, was published in the Iraqi news agency “Sky”, which summarized tips for training and guiding women in the field of the environment and raising awareness of climate change issues, reducing risks, and responding early to gender-based violence.
