A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology, published an article entitled Radon Gas and the Hidden Face of Uranium.
The article included a detailed explanation of radon gas, which is produced from the natural radioactive decay of uranium and is present in all rocks, soil, and water, and how it spreads in the indoor environment, its proportions, limits, and radiation risks.
The article was published in the Iraqi “sky” news agency, which outlined tips for reducing the effects of the gas by spending less time in places where its concentration is greater, such as the basement or garage, continuing air flow, opening windows, and not using groundwater and building materials from places contaminated with the gas.
