A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology, published an article entitled The Carbon Footprint is a Measure of the Culture of Rationalization of Consumption.

The article included a detailed explanation of air pollution and what the carbon footprint is, which expresses the total carbon dioxide emissions that an individual releases during his daily activities. It is an indicator of the impact of global warming, and a number of personal and household items that contribute to global warming.

The article was published in the Iraqi “sky” news agency, which outlined tips for ways to reduce the carbon footprint and reduce the size of carbon emissions.
