The Department of pathological analyzes at the Faculty of science at the University of Basrah organized a practical workshop that ( SELEX method basics and applications .) 
The workshop aimed to highlight the SELEX technology as a modern way to design and manufacture aptamers as nanobiosensors .

  The workshop, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Hisham Fayad Mohammed, teaching at the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science, University of Basra, included a theoretical presentation of the latest technologies in the field of biotechnology and molecular biology, focusing on the SELEX method in terms of theoretical foundations and how to prepare the basic requirements for the work of the method in the laboratory.
The practical side was dedicated to graduate students for the purpose of benefiting from the latest developments in biotechnology and Molecular Biology with highlighting the practical method in how to manufacture apamers for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment carried out by the participants
The workshop recommended by praising the theoretical and scientific aspects of the workshop, in addition to the scientific benefit obtained from the information to apply this method at the Diagnostic and therapeutic level, as well as the need to continue to give such kind of workshops and lectures involving the theoretical and scientific sides
