Master's discussion at the University of Basrah on modern tectonics of Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, using InSAR techniques.

The Department of Earth Sciences at the College of Science discussed a master’s thesis entitled modern tectonics of Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, using InSAR techniques) presented by researcher Obaida Arif Abdul Karim Al-Zikri. The study included the use of SAR radar visualizations in which an overlap was made between the visuals from the year 2017 to the year 2022. Which is considered one of the most important, best and most accurate remote sensing methods in diagnosing and identifying the changes that occur on the Earth’s surface and measuring them with accuracy up to a millimeter annually. The results have led to the diagnosis of declines and rises in Basra Governorate and its oil and gas fields, which represent modern tectonics, as well as their natural and unnatural causes.
