Under the slogan of the Gateway to Creativity and Excellence Project, the Department of Earth Science at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized the first scientific conference to discuss graduation research for postgraduate students. This took place under the supervision of the Deanship of the College of Science, the presidency of the Department of Earth Science, the Rapporteur of Postgraduate Studies, and a number of the department’s professors and students. During the discussions, the most important topics were reviewed. The results reached by scientific research. The conference aims to prepare a new generation of researchers and train them to conduct high-level research and raise the level of the educational process at the university by enriching the field of scientific research and publishing. Finally, the best distinguished projects were selected to participate in the College of Science conference.
