Doctoral discussion at the University of Basrah on improving the characterization of the fluids of the Zubair reservoir in the Rumaila oil field

The Department of Earth Science at the College of Science discussed a doctoral thesis entitled Improving the Characterization of Zubair Reservoir Fluids in the Rumaila Oil Field Using Traditional and Advanced Well Sensors. The doctoral thesis by researcher Hussein Aliwi Jafit Al-Ugaili aims to develop the process of evaluating and managing the Zubair reservoir in the Rumaila oil field. The study included analyzes of gas chromatographic data and petrophysical properties. The results of the interpretation concluded that combining the analysis of the Gas While Drilling (GWD) method and the integration of open well sensors is an effective method for diagnosing the characteristics of reservoir fluids. The study recommends giving special attention to the units (D, F, and L) in the field. North Rumaila and units (L and MN) in the South Rumaila field.
