A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Dr. Wafa Saadoun Shani, Head of the Life Sciences Department, participated in a conference on patents that the University of Basra hosted in the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The conference is concerned with presenting patents to inventors from all Iraqi universities to learn about scientific patents in all medical specialties and their various models.

It includes the teaching participation as a jury member to evaluate the presented patents. The conference included the participation of many inventors in medical fields, and the top three patents were honored, and the foundations of cooperation between educational institutions and research centers were discussed to implement patents on the ground and overcome difficulties in this regard.
