The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Phytotherapy and its uses in treating diabetes mellitus) by the graduate student Zahraa Abd Alreda Jabbar

The study aims to study the effect of treatment with plants and their application as aqueous extracts on diabetic rats and the study included an introduction to phytotherapy and its use as an alternative or complementary treatment to traditional medicine in addition to addressing the definition of diabetes and its most common types knowing the factors that help in its occurrence identifying the most important clinical symptoms as well as addressing the methods of treating it and the drug treatments used for it and then the effect of treatment with plants and the active substances they contain on blood sugar levels was discussed and a comparison was made by reviewing previous studies between rats with diabetes and rats treated with aqueous extracts of plants.
