Lecturer Moataz Hikmat Othman, Department of Ecology, College of Science, University of Basra, participated in a recovery program, which consisted of dialogue sessions held by the Chibayish Organization for Environmental Tourism and the Iraqi Green Climate Organization, with the support of USAID, with civil society organizations and local government in Basra.

The participation included the presence of representatives of the local government and state departments, in addition to the presence of a number of activists and actors in the Basra community.

The sessions included water pollution problems in the governorate, discussing challenges and proposing solutions to address the risks and problems of pollution on the lives of residents in the city.
