Ph.D. thesis at Basrah University to be discussed Cultivation of mangroves in the Iraqi coasts

A Ph.D. thesis at the Faculty of Science at the University of Basrah (Ecophysiological Study of Gray Mangrove Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh. Cultivated in the Marine Coasts of Iraq, South of Basrah), and aims the researcher's thesis (Jihad Meky Majeed) to research in the possibility of cultivating gray mangrove trees in the Iraqi coastal environments to increase vegetation cover and preserve the coastal soil from erosion. It concluded that cultivating and establishing mangrove forests on the Iraqi coasts is possible in sites that are protected from severe wave conditions. It recommended expanding the cultivation of these trees, especially in Khor Al-Zubair.
