A master's thesis / thesis was discussed in the College of Science at the University of Basra (a physiological study on biomarkers of bone integrity in patients with sickle cell anemia in the city of Basra), which included the researcher's thesis (Lamya Kazem Odeh). And the measurement of vital indicators and concluded that the increase and decrease in the level of vital indicators of bone leads to a disruption of bone formation and resorption cells, as well as a decrease in the level of calcium, which causes weakness and bone diseases among the diseased groups, and that the heterozygous genotype is less severe than the homozygous genotype. The study recommended further investigations and detection For the genotypes of sickle cell anemia, new treatment methods and preventive measures must be implemented to reduce the severity of the disease and its complications, and to study the environmental and genetic factors that affect the severity and distribution of sickle cell disease among the regions of Iraq.
