A higher diploma research discusses the reed plant and its environmental uses

The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra discussed a high diploma research on a chemical study of the reed plant and the possibility of using it as a model for wastewater treatment in Basra Governorate

The aim of the research, in which postgraduate student Ahmed Aqil To’ma lectured, was to determine the types of pollutants in wastewater using reeds and sediment.

The study recommended the establishment of stations to treat the waste before it is directly discharged into the sewers and rivers network, increase environmental awareness, educate citizens, take care of reed plants, and reduce the phenomena of cutting, mowing and overgrazing.
